The Directorate of School Education has on 6th December, 2017 notified of the academic calendar 2018 to all Government and Private schools throughout the State for strict compliance.
January – 16th school re-opening for admission in hot region
– 22nd school re-opening for hilly region
– 31st all admission to be completed
February – Regular classes to resume
– 1st VEC/WEC/SMC/SMB meeting
– DEO/DDEO/SDEO/ JEO meeting with heads of Govt. Schools
– HSLC/HSSLC examination
– Class XI promotion exam
March – 1st Parent-Teacher meeting of respective schools
– Admission for class-XII
– School Level Sports week
– District Level GHSS/GHS tournament in the last week
April – 13 submission of students’ enrolment with teachers’ particulars to SDEO for Elementary Schools and Secondary Schools to DEOs as on 31st March to April first week and a copy to SCERT/NBSE/DSE
– State Level GHSS/GHS Tournament
May – Admission for class XI
– May/ June 1st Term examination for Elementary/ Mid Term for Secondary Schools
June – 1st and 2nd Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Entrance Test
– 25th June to 17th July Summer vacation for hilly region
July – 9th to 31st summer vacation for hot region
August – District Level Science Seminar

– Flower Show/Cultural Day/ Parents’ Day

– 1st to 3rd week Declaration of Academic result
– Winter vacation from 21st Dec.
Note:
- Ensure working days in compliance to RTE act 2009.

- Class 6-8-220
- Split the whole syllabus into 3 equal sections (Elementary) one section for each Term exam in the teachers’ scheme of works (covering 1-2 lessons) in a week with all academic exercises and class test as per CCE for Elementary section.
- 1stand 3rd Saturdays of every month shall be utilized for class tests/ co-curricular activities/ life skills/ social works etc.
- All general holidays indicated in the State Government Calendar are to be observed as State/ National holidays compulsorily along with 3 (three) local restricted holidays.
- Every school is to enforce code of Professional Ethics for teachers as per NCERT norms.
- To cope up with the changing world the schools are directed to develop physical, moral, social, spiritual well-being of the students throughout the academic year.
- The performance of students in all the 3 (three) term exams (Elementary) shall be taken together to determine the promotion of the students to the next higher class and the weakest students shall have to repeat the same class in the next academic session.
