DIMAPUR, AUG 18 (NPN): Nagaland on Tuesday recorded 65 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 3,520 cases– 1842 active, 1664 recovered, 8 deaths and 6 migrated.

 

According to Health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom 41 new cases were reported in Kohima, 23 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon. He also informed that 134 persons had recovered from the virus– 79 in Dimapur, 36 in Kohima and 19 in Zunheboto.



As per the severity of symptoms, 1,838 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 mild and 3 moderate. According to Health department’s data (cases by domicile district), Dimapur as on August 18 has 1694 cases, followed by Kohima- 904, Peren- 343, Mon- 289, Zunheboto- 102, Tuensang- 53, Phek- 32, Wokha- 29, Mokokchung- 19, Longleng- 5, Kiphire- 4 and others- 46.

 

Further, out of the 3,520 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people include 1,548 personnel of the Armed Forces, 1,185 returnees, 234 frontline workers, 499 traced contacts and 54 others.

 

India’s COVID tally tops 27-lakh mark

PTI adds: A spike of 55,079 cases took India’s COVID-19 tally past 27 lakh on Tuesday just a day after it crossed the 26-lakh mark, while 19.77 lakh people have so far recuperated from the disease, according to the Union Health Ministry data. COVID-19 caseload stood at 27,02,742, while the death toll climbed to 51,797 with 876 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
