Nagaland Assembly Election: 253 candidates file nomination for 27 February polls

As the deadline for filing of nomination for thirteen Nagaland Assembly Election covering 60 constituencies ended today, Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland Abhijit Sinha (IAS) told media persons that 253 candidates including substitute candidates from different political parties filed their nomination papers for the February 27 Nagaland Assembly Election.

 

There are five women candidates- Smti Rekha Rose (Ind) from A/C Chizami, Smti Awan Konyak (NDPP) from A/C Aboi, Smti Rakhila (BJP) from A/C Tuensang Sadar-11, Smti Wedie-u Kronu (NPP) from A/C Dimapur –III and Smti (Dr) K Mangyangpula (NPP) from A/C Noksen.

 

Various political parties who filed their nomination includes NPF, NDPP, NPP, BLP, INC, JD(U), LJP, NCP, AAP and Independent

 

Substitute candidates are expected to withdraw nomination by the last day of withdrawal, 12 February 2018. The polling for 60 seats will take place on 27 Feb. and votes will be counted on 3rd March 2018. The highest nominations is under Mokokchung district with 48 candidates.
