‘Special packages & activities to commence in ENPO areas’

Mon, December 22 (MExN): Nagaland state Minister of Road and Bridges, G Kaito Aye on Saturday disclosed that “special packages and activities would commence in ENPO areas.” The Minister appealed “to the ENPOs to appreciate the anticipated positive development in the region, promoting unity and collective efforts for the progress of Naga society.”

He disclosed this during the unveiling ceremony of foundation stone for Naginimora to Zero Point, Kongan Village road construction on December 21 in the presence of W Chingang Konyak, Advisor, DUDA, Geology and Mining, Government of Nagaland; Rev Dr Zelho Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC; and others at Kongan Village, Mon District. 

The development projects were inaugurated commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Kongan Baptist Church Platinum Jubilee (1919-1921), stated a press release issued by OSD to Minister Road and Bridges, Government of Nagaland.

Minister Aye acknowledged the challenges in completing road projects on time and the delays in central funding. He appreciated the village community’s contribution and the concerned MLA representatives for volunteering to construct roads despite limited funding. Aye encouraged continued support and informed that he will also apprised the Chief Minister to continue prioritize rural areas for good road connectivity.

Regarding the proposed Naginimora to Zero Point, Kongan Village road, Minister Aye stated that his department would reassess the road’s grading and alignment. He assured that he would prioritize this road project next year.

During the unveiling ceremony, W Chingang Konyak, Advisor, DUDA, Geology and Mining, Government of Nagaland, highlighted the road’s significance in providing the shortest route and alternative roads for Mon District, benefiting the Konyak tribe and other communities. He requested Minister Aye to prioritize this road project for better services.

Meanwhile, addressing the gathering at Kongan Baptist Church Platinum Jubilee Minister Aye called upon church communities to introspect and bring reformation to society. He questioned whether the Nagas were prepared to struggle together for years or unite to change society, strengthening church communities and Naga society through fellowship and gospel.

Minister Aye appealed to church leaders to pray for Naga unity and to be disciplined and self-controlled. He quoted “Don’t fight with your shadows; fight with your enemy,” emphasizing the importance of being true spiritual warriors to experience real Christian life. He concluded by stressing the need for peace and unity in Naga society.
