The Midland (Ward 9) today bagged the best and cleanest ward award 2024 at the Annual Inter-Ward & Shop Cleanliness Competition, organised by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC).
The award, which carries Rs 50,000 cash prize, running trophy and citation was handed over by KMC chairperson Neikhozo Suokhrie during Pre-Christmas celebration of the KMC on December 19 at KMC office Kohima.
New Ministers’ Hill/Lerie /NST/Dairy Farm (Ward No 16) stood 2nd position and pocketed Rs 30,000.
Hospital/Officers’ Hill Ward stood third position and received Rs 20,000.
Under the Cleanest shop category 2024, KS Florist, Daklane bagged the first position and entitled for one l year Trade License concession.
Kiwi Mart, Sepfuzou Colony and United Traders, High School stood 2nd and 3rd position and qualified for 6 months and 3 months Trade License concession respectively.
Later, Ruokuowhelie Pienyü, Pastor, Upper Naga Bazaar Baptist Church delivered Christmas message.
The programme was compered by Zeneivonuo Nakhro while Ketholelie Seletsu invoked God’s blessing.
Welcome address was delivered by Neikhozo Suokhrie, Chairperson, KMC while special song was presented by Khrielievi Chusi, Deputy Chairperson, KMC.
The prize distribution was led by Neilhouphrelie, Chief Inspector, KMC.
Vote of thanks was proposed by T. Lanusenla Longkumer, Chief Executive Officer, KMC.
