Anon Konyak A was crowned Miss Nagaland 2024 at a glittering event organised by the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) at RCEMPA on December 4. She walked away with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs along with gift hampers and vouchers and also received direct entry to Miss North East 2025.

Meanwhile, Nikali K Shohe and Kelülü Dawhuo were adjudged first runner up and second runner up respectively. They were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 1,40,000 and Rs 1 lakh along with gift hampers and vouchers. The first runner-up also received direct entry to Miss North East 2025.
The top four contestants who were subsequently selected out of 13 contestants, were asked a common question on what initiatives they would take as a title holder if they were crowned Miss Nagaland and how they would address those causes.
Citing two causes, which are very close to her heart, Anon Konyak A said she would advocate environmental sustainability and education. Elaborating on this, she underscored that, “environmental sustainability should not be a choice but it should be our responsibility to ensure that our earth thrives for future generation to come.” She also emphasised that “education should not be a privilege but a right.”
“I would serve as a role model for aspiring beauty queens and I would celebrate beauty with a purpose because that’s what I firmly stand for,” she added.

Nikali K Shohe said she would work towards the health and wellbeing of everyone particularly with children with special needs. Stating that everybody deserves a healthy mind and body, she also said that children with special needs also deserve all the love and care.
Kelülü Dawhuo said she would especially advocate issues surrounding mental health, girl empowerment, cleanliness, and environment sustainability. She also said she would carry out these initiatives with the quality of ‘grace and beauty’ exemplifying the woman in her.
‘We need Hornbill in our hearts and thoughts’
Stating that through the Hornbill Festival, Nagaland has showcased the resounding victory of the unity of the tribes of Nagaland, Minister for Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along appealed to the people of the state that, “we need this Hornbill in our hearts and thoughts.”
Addressing the Miss Nagaland 2024 Beauty Pageant at RCEMPA, he expressed that, “it is not only about being in a pageant, or about our beautiful state with beautiful people, but I pray and wish that each and every Naga would also be beautiful in their thoughts, be peace loving people and be strong in our desire to achieve that.”
He stated that the Hornbill Festival has manifested the assimilation of all our tribes coming together, celebrating, working and trying to achieve together. In this regard, he also cited the stone pulling ceremony that reflected the prosperity, the unity of strength and the vision of our people. “When the rope broke from time to time, it was retied and rebounded till it reached its destination”, he illustrated.
For Nagaland to be prosperous, and to resonate peace, he underscored that, “we cannot do alone as an individual, or as a tribe, but only when we come together.” He asserted that our collective vision should be to hold each other together and with one resounding voice, pull the majestic rock of prosperity, unity in order to achieve the goals of our community.
“There are weaknesses and failures but together we have to go ahead for Nagaland to be a prosperous state, by loving each other and taking care of each other”, he put across. He also exuded hope that the contestants of the beauty pageant would be able to understand the desires of our common people.
Mention may be made here that Miss Nagaland 2024 was powered by Government of Nagaland, Department of Tourism, and Atomy India.
Judges for the event were Asenla Longkumer, founding President of BASN, Shyamanga Kashyap, Director of Miss Assam Organisation & Secretary of North East Beauty Pageant Organisation (NEBPO), Shanavas C, IAS, Secretary, Agriculture, Akshatha Das, Femina Miss India Kerala 2024, Chanchui Khayi, Femina Miss India Manipur 2024.
The event also featured the performances of artistes including Mezanuo, Ethnic Future, Azi Rudy, Wasenya Magh, Anu Curah, Neiba Kent, Lapla Tungoe, and Senti Yabang. Hikali Achumi, Miss Nagaland 2022 was the host while Molungnenla Longkumer was the show announcer. Lemti Longchar was the official designer while Neukali Seb was the stash designer and the show was choreographed by Arnish Impisha Daimari, a prominent figure in the Indian pageantry scene. Benili Kent was the makeup artist and the show director was Mele Pucho, President, BASN.
