In a condolence note, Rio expressed that he had the privilege to work alongside the late Ngullie when he was first elected to the NLA in 1989.

“I remember him as a real gentleman who loved and treated everyone equally. He was a visionary and an ardent politician, who was one of the members of the first Nagaland Legislative Assembly,” he said. He was an approachable leader, always willing to reach out to the people, especially those from the marginalised sections of society, and his contributions towards the growth of Nagaland and its people will always be remembered, the CM added.

The Lotha community, in particular, and the Nagas in general, have lost a fatherly figure and a guardian, and the emptiness created by his departure will be difficult to fill, he stated.

However, Rio called for cherishing the good memories the late Ngullie has left behind and prayed that his good legacy would continue.

“In this hour of bereavement, I, on behalf of the Government of Nagaland, convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members,” he added.

He was instrumental in the formation of the North East Council along with other great leaders of the state and “In his demise, the state has lost a pioneer and visionary leader whose legacy will be cherished for generations to come,” Patton added.

On behalf of the State BJP legislators, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Deputy CM Zeliang described the late Ngullie as a remarkable leader, whose contributions and dedication have left an indelible mark on our community. “His wisdom, compassion, and tireless commitment to service have been an inspiration to all who knew him. May Ngullie’s legacy continue to live on through the lives he touched and the positive impact he made,” he stated in a condolence message. “May his soul rest in peace, and may his loved ones find comfort and strength in the memory of his extraordinary life,” he added.
