The third annual WENN Bazaar is scheduled on October 11-13. The Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) made the announcement on October 5, promising that the third edition will be bigger and better, with as many as 80 women entrepreneurs from across Nagaland signing up already. The event, open to all women-owned or women-led businesses registered in Nagaland, will take place at the CT Square, Chümoukedima. Director of Industries and Commerce, Tokugha Achumi, will be the special guest.

Chairperson, Alemjungla Jamir, termed the WENN as a platform dedicated to showcasing the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of women in the state. A non-profit organisation established in 2022, she said that the WENN aims to empower women entrepreneurs through networking, collaboration, training and policy advocacy. According to her, the organization has expanded its reach to 13 districts across Nagaland and registering over 800 members.

She said that the WENN Bazaar, besides serving as a marketing platform, provides a unique learning space for women entrepreneurs through workshops and networking opportunities focused on strengthening business acumen and building a sustainable network.

“Whatever we are trying to do is creating a platform for the women entrepreneurs in Nagaland. Many entrepreneurs have very good products but they don’t have a platform or they don’t have a brand or a shop to sell their products. The concept of the WENN Bazaar has been to create a platform for them,” Jamir said.

Following up on the success of the previous year, the duration of WENN Bazaar 2024 will be three days. According to the WENN, the 2023 edition generated sales of around Rs 20 lakh combined.

The bazaar will feature a diverse range of products, including handloom, handicrafts, food items, and other locally produced goods.

While WENN focuses on supporting grassroots entrepreneurs, the WENN said that they are also actively working on connecting entrepreneurs with larger markets and providing training in digital marketing.
