ANCSU celebrates 45th Foundation Day

Sixty-one degree gold medallists and toppers were felicitated by the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) in a programme held at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on August 2.

The 45th foundation day cum degree toppers felicitation programme was graced by Dr. A. Nshoga, Director of Higher Education as the special guest. The day was marked by cake cutting led by Vilhouselie Kenguruse, former president of ANCSU.

21 gold medallists under Nagaland University; 12 subject toppers under Patkai Christian College (Autonomous); 8 gold medallists from Kohima Science College (Autonomous); 13 subject toppers from St. Joseph College, Jakhama (Autonomous) and seven gold medallists from technical and other courses were felicitated with citation.

ANCSU Education Secretary, Tokuho Jakhalu informed the pass percentage under Nagaland University stands at 73.47% wherein a total of 6197 have passed out of the 8435 appeared.

Exam results show a pass percentage of 48.89% from Patkai Christian College, with 506 students passing out of 1035. Kohima Science College achieved a pass percentage of 91.70% with 431 students passing out of 470. 

Meanwhile, St. Joseph College has the highest pass percentage at 97.47%, with 1046 students passing from a total of 1066 from while the pass percentage for technical and other courses was 62.5% with 126 passing out of 203.

Jakhalu said this is the seventh degree felicitation programme by the ANCSU, and that it shall continue in the future to encourage the students’ fraternity.

In his greetings, NSF president, Medovi Rhi said success is a result of consistent effort and determination, and congratulated the medallists and toppers for their heard work, dedication and perseverance.

Nevertheless, he also reminded the students the value of humility stating that ego, if unchecked can be one’s downfall, and advised them “as you climb higher, let your humility be your guide, ensuring that your success is both meaningful and lasting.” 

With the world rapidly evolving, Rhi maintained that their ability to adapt and innovate will be crucial in navigating the complexities of the future, further adding ‘the future is yours to shape and the possibilities before you are limitless.’

The students were also reminded that the journey ahead is not just about academic achievements or personal success, but a collective upliftment of the community with the responsibilities upon them to uphold the values that define ‘us’ as Nagas of resilience, unity, and a commitment to progress.

Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA), Pastor, Arep Tzudir offered a special prayer for the students, while President ANCSU, Tenyesinlo Bukh made his presidential speech and Tatongmongla Longkumer from Kros College, Kohima spoke on behalf of the toppers.
