Japanese Encephalitis concern in Dimapur: Health dept asked to take control measures

Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the new chairmanship of Advisor, Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi in the conference hall of DC Dimapur on July 22.

With the onset of monsoon, Advisor H Tovihoto Ayemi expressed concern on the “issue of Japanese Encephalitis raised by CMO Dimapur.” He advised the health department for carrying out the fogging exercise at the earliest by tying up with the Naga Council, DMC councillors for logistic support. He also asked the department for carrying out sensitisation and awareness of the advisories to the citizens, a DIPR report stated. 

The Advisor called upon the members to work with renewed purpose and dedication while dubbing Dimapur as the district with highest population coupled with several challenges. He further asked all the departments for sincerely implementing all their assigned tasks, especially the Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the district.

Other agendas of the meeting included approval of LADP 2024- 25 for Dimapur 1, Dimapur II and Dimapur III Assembly Constituencies, change of nomenclature from Cornerstone College to Connorstone College. The proposal for society registration of Nagaland Flatfenders Club, Kinunger Society, United Riders Motorcycle club Nagaland, Nagaland Agarwood Farmers Association were approved for further necessary action.

The departments of Social Welfare and Urban Development have been entrusted to present power point presentations on the status and activities of their respective departments in the next DPDB meeting.
