DMC Chairman vows to serve with integrity and transparency

Pledging to serve with integrity, transparency, and equity, the newly elected Chairman of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Hukheto Yepthomi, shared his vision for the future at the thanksgiving programme held at Honili Memorial Higher Secondary School, Lhomithi village on July 13. 

“Thank God that it is by His favour I have been able to be in this position,” Yepthomi stated. Emphasising the historic significance of the DMC taking charge after 20 years, Yepthomi noted, “We are tasked with so many works in our journey towards a better future.” 

He cautiously refrained from making early promises but assured that the DMC would address pressing issues at the earliest.

“The present reality might be grim, but we must collaborate and work together positively for a better Dimapur. Everyone has a role to play. Dimapur is a collective responsibility, and together we will build a stronger, more vibrant community,” he reiterated. 

The programme began with welcome address from Emma S Yepthomi, followed by an invocation prayer by Vily Yepthomi, Associate Pastor, LBA. Highlights of the event included a President’s address by NDPP President Chingwang Konyak, and short speeches from Advisor of Industries & Commerce Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor of Labor, Skill Development & Employment, and Excise Moatoshi Longkumer, and NDPP Secretary General Abu Metha.

The programme was attended by NDPP members, advisors, legislators, elected councillors, and other officials.
