Longleng, May 27 (MExN): The National Oral Health Program (NOHP) in Longleng District conducted an awareness programme on oral health and oral cancer with the youths of Longleng Town Baptist Church on May 26th.
During the programme, Dr Nichukholie Vupru, the District Nodal Officer of NOHP, served as the resource person and spoke on the importance of oral health for overall wellbeing.
To maintain good oral hygiene, he emphasised the importance of regular brushing, limiting intake of sugary food items, consuming more fruits and vegetables rich in fibre, and avoiding tobacco products.
Dr Vupru also shared information on the harmful effects of tobacco, which can lead to oral cancer and other health problems.
He stressed the benefits of regular dental check-ups for early detection of oral cancers and timely intervention in oral health issues.
In addition to Dr Vupru, the NOHP team included Dr Chumei Nyam, a Dental Surgeon, and Angshom Chemdok, the Media Officer.
