Angami Catholic Women Association Golden Jubilee celebration concludes

A two-day long  golden jubilee celebration of the Angami Catholic Women Association (ACWA) concluded today with a solemn Eucharist at Christ The King Church in Kohima Village.

Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima, Nagaland, extended congratulations to ACWA on their 50 years of unwavering service.

In his homily, Bishop Thoppil emphasized the significance of the chosen theme, urging faithful to adopt a forward-looking perspective, ready to overcome challenges as vessels of grace.

Reflecting on the essence of jubilee, he underscored its role in prompting introspection, repentance, and renewal in service to the Church and society.

Emphasizing Jesus’ teachings on love and grace, Bishop Thoppil urged the faithful to embody these virtues and serve as channels of grace to others.

Thoppil encouraged believers to share the impact of their apostolate, promoting Gospel values in various spheres of life.

During the Mass, scripture readings were delivered by Khriezonuo Margaret Kezhaleü Matilda and  Ruokuovituo Robert, the catechist of Christ The King Church.

Bishop Thoppil also administered confirmation to a group of Catholics, while the prayer of the faithful was led by Ruokuoheü Roseline.

The ACWA souvenir was also released by Thoppil during the mass.

Opening and concluding prayers was conducted by Visazhünuo Carmila, the president of ACWA, accompanied by songs performed by the choir and pianist Medotseinuo Joan.

Meguosieü Josephine, the treasurer of ACWA, delivered vote of thanks.

Earlier, during the first session of the day, Rev. Dr. Fr. Pezalhoukho George, Director of the Men’s Hostel at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, delivered a message themed on the biblical verse, “Those who wept as they went out carrying the seed will come back singing for joy, as they bring in the harvest” (Psalms 126:6).

The jubilee choir with pianist Neinuo Nelly, performed melodious renditions. Scripture reading was delivered by Thinuoheü Teresa, and the session concluded with a benediction by Ravolebeino Martha.

The jubilee mass saw an attendance of over 3000 people, marking a memorable occasion.
