Mon: Langsa Hills Welfare Society donates AWC building in Aboi ‘A’

Aboi, January 13 (MExN): The Anganwadi Centre (AWC) building of Aboi ‘A’ under the Aboi ICDS Project was inaugurated by Tosheli Zhimomi, Director, Social Welfare Department. The AWC building, donated and constructed by Langsa Hills Welfare Society, Lampong, Sheanghah, Mon, was officially opened on January 9.

A DIPR report stated that at the inaugural function, the Director expressed gratitude to the donors for their philanthropic initiative. Phuleshe Yepthomi, ADC, Aboi, present at the event, urged Field Officials and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) to perform their duties diligently.

 

Following the inauguration, a coordination meeting took place with the Director and Senior Officers of the Social Welfare Department engaging with the Anganwadi Workers from Aboi and Tobu ICDS projects.

During the meeting, Tosheli Zhimomi emphasised the crucial role played by anganwadi workers in ICDS program implementation. She urged them to be sincere and diligent, working in convergence with other Line Departments at the grassroots level.

Senior Officers of the Social Welfare Department present at the coordination meeting briefed the AWWs on various programmes under the ICDS umbrella.

The programme was chaired by Amilo Yanthan, CDPO, Tizit, welcome address was delivered by Tsalito Sangtam, DPO, ICDS Mon, and vote of thanks was presented by Hemping, CDPO Tobu.
