Kohima, January 11 (MExN):Nagaland has a total of 13,08,848 electors, according to the final electoral roll published by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, on January 10, with January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
The total excludes the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency in the Mon district, where a bye-election took place on November 7, 2023.
In a press release, CEO Nagaland, Vyasan R, informed that out of 13,01,092 general electors, 6,52,693 were females, and 6,48,396 were males. Three voters were designated as the third gender.
Accordingly, the gender ratio stands at around 1,000 males for every 1,006 females, as per the CEO’s data.
However, with just 109 females against 7,647 males among service electors, the overall data shows higher male voters by 3,241.
The total, including service electors, thus stands at 13,08,848, comprising 6,52,693 females, 6,48,396 males, and 3 third genders.
The final e-roll for the 43-Tapi AC is yet to be published, however, during the bye-election to the 43-Tapi AC on November 7 last year, a total of 15,256 were eligible to exercise their franchise as per the CEO Office.
Hence, the total voters in Nagaland, including the 43-Tapi AC, could be estimated to be above 13.24 lakh.
It must be noted here that when the CEO Nagaland published the draft photo electoral roll on October 27, there were 12, 97, 573 electors in the State excluding 43 Tapi AC.
Thereafter, there were filing of claims and objections from October 27-December 9, 2023 and special camps were scheduled for four days in November for receiving claims and objections before final publication on January 10.
Meanwhile, the final electoral rolls can be checked or downloaded from the CEO Nagaland website at www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in, the release added.
