Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): The Department of Power, Dimapur Electrical Division, today informed that it would be carrying out a raid and disconnection drive for non-payment of electricity bills and all other illegal activities, such as meter tampering and hooking.
The drive will be conducted for all categories of consumers within Dimapur Electrical Division without further notice and will continue on a daily basis until new directives or orders are issued, informed a press release from Er Y Akito Sema, Executive Engineer (EE), Dimapur Electrical Division.
The Division further advised consumers to pay their electricity bills within the stipulated time to avoid any inconveniences.
“In case of any discrepancies/grievances regarding your electricity bill, please visit the office of the respective SDO (E) NO-I, II, III for clarification/correction/rectification at the earliest,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Division further informed that there have been some modifications in the online payment portal and the earlier mobile app “DoPN,” on Google Playstore, had been disabled to enable more payment options.
Accordingly, consumers are informed to visit the designated portal www.dopn.gov.in to view and pay electricity bills online through Gpay, PhonePe, SBI YONO, Amazon, Paytm, BHIM.
The Kohima Electrical Division, on Monday, also informed on Monday that it would start an extensive disconnection drive of defaulting consumers within its jurisdiction from January 10.
