Amul Parlour inaugurated at PHQ Kohima

Kaisa Rio today launched a one of a kind, Amul Parlour initiated by Nagaland Police Family Welfare Organization (NPFWO) at Police Headquarter, Kohima. 

She lauded the NPFWO team for successfully setting up the Amul corner at the PHQ premises, which she added was not an essential service but a welfare services for the police community. With regard to diary products, Rio commented that health and diary products cover every portion of daily diet because of the rich nutritional content and source of protein it provides. 

While the profits made in sales through the Amul Parlour will be kept for police family welfare, Rio appreciated that the profits made in the sale of the diary products would be utilized in organizing and funding welfare activities of the police fraternity and their family members.

 

She further expressed hope that it will go a long way in generating income for the members who need it most and also be used for the betterment of the police and public at large. She also called upon the public to support the initiative. 

Managed by the Nagaland Police Family Welfare Organization (NPFWO), the President headed by wife of the DGP of the Nagaland Police, Vinita Sharma spoke about how the project was initiated. She said that the newly inaugurated Amul corner was a long felt dream of the organisation where income generation was the main objective. However, after coming a long way with its own hurdles including funding, space, time and other factors, Sharma said it was finally set up with a suitable space. 

She mentioned that outside of the police staff, it has been able to employ two graduates to look after the parlour which in turn is a matter of pride to give employment to youths. 

Amul products, from diary to sweets, snacks, icecream, coffee and a range of other items are available at the parlour at a wholesale price which is open to all. In the coming weeks, Sharma said new initiatives like home delivery services and pizzas will be introduced. 

The programme was chaired by Jatila, IPS, DIG (P&D) and R Apokla, Women Leader, Police Union Baptist Church.
