C-Edge College celebrates women entrepreneurs

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): C-Edge College observed the World Entrepreneurs Day and also held the grand finale of The Entrepreneur 2023 on August 21. World Entrepreneurs Day is celebrated every year as the commemorative day by the Department of Management Studies. This year it was observed on the theme ‘celebrating women entrepreneurs,’ stated a press release received here. 

Gracing the occasion Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) members including Alemjungla Jamir, Zakietsono Jamir, Kewengule Therie and Vekutholu Vero participated in a panel discussion. It was moderated by Wapanginla Ao, HoD and Dean of Management Studies. 

The event also featured the results declaration of the business venture competition ‘The Entrepreneur’. Every year the Department of Management Studies organises the intra-college competition with focus on discovering and enhancing the students’ entrepreneurial skills, leadership qualities, and team spirit and inter-personal abilities and is a platform to the students to come up with their business ideas and execute it. 

The sixth edition of ‘The Entrepreneur’ 2023 was held from July 14 to August 7. This year, 12 teams took part in the competition. Each team were given a seed money and the total capital profit earned was Rs 1,75,700. 

Orientation on basic business skills and book keeping was also given to the teams before the competition. The business review meeting was held with each team to appraise their performance based on their report, presentation, viva, team work and creativity. 

The winners for the Entrepreneur 2023 were Team Lagom comprising of Kumsuto, Maneki, Temsulila, Tovito and Nzanthung from BBA V Semester. The first and second runners up were Team The Tomorrow and the Team Trusted Leads respectively. The prize money for The Entrepreneur 2023 was sponsored by Albert Sangtam, Director & Founder, Clefnote Music Academy.
