Kohima, August 27 (MExN): Konyak Students’ Union Kohima (KSUK) inaugurated the first library under their project ‘Education for All’ at Lampong Sheanghah, Mon in collaboration with the Lampong Sheanghah Students’ Union (LSSU) on August 26. A total of 1000 books were donated by the KSUK to the library, stated an update received here.
The inaugural was graced by I Moala Aier, DEO, Mon and it was attended by various student unions, village councils and other dignitaries. The library was dedicated by Pastor, Phuktong Baptist Church.
Moala Aier in her speech encouraged the students to make the best use of the library and also challenged the parents to teach their children to read more as today’s generation children are spending more time in mobile phones and other gadgets. She congratulated the KSUK on achieving its vision and LSSU for being the first village to start the library under this project.
M Honli Konyak, President, KSUK highlighted about the goals of the project and the vision the Union have in the future.
She spoke on the difficulties and challenges the Union faced while starting the project. She thanked Kohima College and Don Bosco College for donating enough books and all the well wishers and donors for their prayers and help to the union both in cash and kind.
Invocation was done by Mariam, Associate Pastor Women while LSSU, President, Golang Kheman gave the welcome note. Special number was presented by Manpai Konyak, short speeches were given by Konyak Students Union (Apex) and Shingwang, Angh, lampong Sheanghah. Vote of thanks was given by Optm. Chingteih Wangnao, GS, LSSU and benediction by Matpai, Associate Pastor Youth, Lampong Sheanghah.
