Uphold the policy of non-violence: NNC/FGN

The Chakhesang Region of Naga National Council (NNC)/Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) today celebrated 77th Nagaland Independence Day at Thipiizu village in Phek district.

Shevohii Keyho, Killo Kilonser FGN unfurled National Flag and delivered Independence day message of FGN Kedahge Gen (Retd) Viyalie Metha. Quoting Gen (Retd) Metha’s message, the Killo Kilonser stated that “the mandated NNC and FGN always uphold the policy of non-violence and maintain peace and tranquillity with all neighbouring people and nations, and shall continue to do the same.”

NNC Joint Secretary Aciiyi Vadeo highlighted the history of the NNC. Vadeo called upon the people to know the truth and stand by it.
Sharing greetings, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) ex-president, Kekhwengulo Lea saluted the ‘Naga national workers’ for their enormous contribution towards the Naga cause. Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) President, Avezo Kevin Kapu expressed dismay over disunity and division among the Nagas and called for strengthening the bond of unity.

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Chokri Area Public Organization (CAPO) President, Vezohii Tiinyi. The programme was also marked by special appearance from Thipiizu village women group, patriotic song composed by Veposhiiyi Rhakho, special song by Transfigure Vocals and Veciisa Lohe.

The programme was led by Kamucho Chiizho, Midan Peyu, Chakhesang Region FGN while Zhoshelii Tetseo, Joint Secretary NNC compered the function.

Neingupe-u K Rhakho, Women Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and Vejuyi Rose, pastor Thipiizu Baptist Church prayed for the programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Neikhape Kreo, Speaker Leacy Hoho, Chakhesang Region FGN.
