The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan graced the Tsüngremmong festival celebration at Mangmetong village, Mokokchung on August 2. He was accompanied by Dy Chief Minister, Y Patton along with other legislative colleagues and officials.

While addressing the enormous festive gathering, the Governor in his address said, “We are able to celebrate such festival due to the peaceful atmosphere in the state” and added, “While celebrating let us also foster the spirit of unity and peace in our land.” He also said that the essence and good practices of our culture should be preserved and past down to future generation.
“The state in the past had to struggle with issues that impeded peace and development but with peace returning we are witnessing development in all front, Nagaland today is marching ahead with the rest of the country and our contribution in the field of Arts particularly in music is second to none as the Nagaland Chamber choir representing the country won accolades at the recently held World Choir Games,” he said.
Dy CM Y Patton in his Tsüngremmong greeting mentioned about the contribution of Ao community in all walks of life and urged all to preserve and continue the legacies.
Short speeches were delivered by Imkong L Imchen, Advisor IPR and Soil & Water Conservation govt. of Nagaland and Thsuvise Phoji, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung. Other Highlights of the days celebration included traditional dance and music presentation.
