DIMAPUR, JULY 22 (MExN): A new counseling center under the name NT_ Revivify Counseling Service was inaugurated at KS Wotsami Complex, Golaghat road NST Colony, Dimapur on July 20.
The inauguration programme was chaired by Pastor Kughahoto Awomi, Nagamese Baptist Church, Hukavi Colony, Dimapur. The proprietor Niutoli Tuccu is a licensed Rehabilitation Psychologist (RCI). During her speech, she said that Naga people are not that well psycho-educated and labels most mental illness like psychosis especially withdrawal symptoms or schizophrenia as demon possessed.
She emphasized on the importance of counseling, saying that depression also hampers pregnancy because of estrogen and progesterone levels which creates hormonal imbalances. Tuccu added that many people are not aware of how their irrational thoughts, stresses affects their physical health.
She thanked her clients from both national and international levels for getting a lot of positive response, also letting her enhance her counseling skills. To avoid being misdiagnosed, she suggested people to go to licensed or properly trained counselors/psychologists or therapists.
She meanwhile said that there is lack of good books on psychology/psychotherapy in Dimapur bookstores. Tuccu informed interested students that she is willing to lend good books on these subjects free of cost.
