Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (Dr Kalam Centre) and Department of Higher Education (DH&TE), Government of Nagaland signed a MoU at Nagaland Guest House, RK Puram New Delhi on July 1.
An update issued by Kuolie Mere, Dy Director & PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi stated that the parties agreed to enter into this MoU to record the understanding/objectives between the parties to collaborate on the several points.
The parties agreed to provide capacity building programs of faculty members and officials under DH&TE; recognize IIM Shillong as “Knowledge Partner” for Research, Policy Development, Analysis, Impact Study and Identifying/Recommending necessary interventions; recognize IIM Shillong (as an “In-house” consultant for project development and policy formulation; engage IIM Shillong in institutional development plans for state run higher education institutions; engage IIM Shillong in imparting value-added skills to foster competency and entrepreneurship amongst youth of Nagaland; consult and engage IIM Shillong in implementation of New Education Policy 2020 in letter and spirit; consult and engage IIM Shillong as an expert in establishing a state-of-the art engineering college of Nagaland through best practices and robust systems.
Nagaland team was represented by Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism & Higher Education along with the officials including Nchumbemo Lotha, Secretary Tourism, Sentiyanger, Addl Secretary Higher & Technical Education and Dr Nshoga Rengma, Director, Higher Education.
IIM Shillong was represented by Prof DP Goyal, Director IIM Shillong. The MoU was signed by Atul Kulkarni, Member GoB IIM Shillong, Nitin Sharma, member GoB and Dr Sanjeev Ningombam, IIM Shillong.
