Kohma, June 19 (MExn): With the view to keep the students and staff healthy and sensitise on healthy living, the Government Middle School (GMS) Bayavü Kohima on Friday conducted a medical camp was held at the school campus.
A press release from the school authority informed that the camp was organised in collaboration with Ayush Health and Wellness Centre Bayavü Kohima.
On the occasion Dr Noksangrenla Jamir Medical Officer, (AYUSH) delivered a talk to the school children about diarrhoea and it’s prevention and other health and hygiene practices.
For adolescence as part of the Beti Bacho Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme, the officer took a special session for the girls children sensitizing about menstruation cycle, menstrual myth, common symptoms during period, how to maintain hygiene and food to eat during menstruation.
Following which, health check-up on students, teachers and mid-day meal cooks was held and free medicines, ORS sachets and vitamins were distributed. Meanwhile about 60 students were also immunised on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, Head Teacher GMS Bayavü in the release acknowledged Dr Noksangrenla Jamir Medical Officer, (AYUSH) and staff of Ayush Health and Wellness Centre Bayavü for coming forward in rendering their services and support towards the school while exuding hope that this collaboration and partnership will promote a healthy living in school and the society.
