Old video of fawn following man resurfaces; goes viral

After a video clip which seemingly showed a fawn following a man went viral on social media on Friday. It was found that the incident had happened at Longkhum village during March of 2022 when a villager discovered the animal nearby an agricultural field.

According to the villager, during March last year, he first saw the fawn under a tree close to a field. He assumed that it had been left abandoned by its mother. “As soon as I came close, it started to approach me, thinking I was its mother,” he said.

Taking compassion for the animal, he decided to bring it back to the village as it continued to follow him wherever he went. During the trek, one of his friends who also present at that time captured the wholesome moment of the fawn following alongside the man.

“When I decided to upload the video this year on my WhatsApp status, people apparently began sharing the clip everywhere and that’s how it went viral,” he revealed further.

Continuing his story, he mentioned that the fawn was kept at home for approximately a week or so during which time it slept with him together on the bed. He reflected that, “It was like keeping a normal pet at home.”

Unfortunately, the fawn began to fall sick due to the lack of its mother’s milk. He then contacted the concerned department and later handed the fawn over to the authorities at the Nagaland Zoological Park.
