According to him, it was a first for an institute of higher learning in Nagaland to get a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.12. He praised the college for its commitment to excellence and expressed his confidence that the NAAC accreditation would inspire other institutions in Nagaland to follow suit.

“It is a moment of pride for the people of Peren District and Nagaland in general. I call upon all the College administration of Nagaland to emulate the efforts St. Xavier’s College, Jalukie has exhibited,” he said, while adding that the feat was made possible through the spirit of devotion and cohesiveness of the staff and stakeholders.

Patton also spoke about the challenges facing the education sector in Nagaland and outlined the government’s efforts to address them. He emphasized the need for cooperation between the government and educational institutions to improve the quality of education in the state.

The event was attended by faculty, staff, and students of St. Xavier’s College, as well as representatives from the government and the NAAC. The college was awarded a ‘B’ grade in the accreditation process, which is considered a significant achievement.

Major General Lakhera, while inaugurating the basketball court, stressed on learning life lessons and learning to persevere and going on despite the odds. As members of the uniformed service, he said, “We are dedicated to serve you all, because the people in uniform are from the people.” He added that for a college to be accredited by the NAAC is no small deal.
