GPS Orchid shares success story
Z Ajano Khuvung, teacher-in-charge of GPS Orchid informed that 80 percent of the students in the schools are domestic helpers from different districts and states, which is one of the biggest challenges “for me and my colleagues.”
In the beginning, there was lack seriousness, sincerity and eagerness to read, write and learn as the students were confined in a shell where there is lack of support and assistance from their homes, she said.
But with time and due to the immense effort and sacrifices of each and every teacher of the school instilled in the minds of the students the joy of learning and inspire them to dream bigger for tomorrow.’
“We work and grow together. We support and help each other,” she said.
Khuvung said that winning NRF competition “boosts our morale and confidence, instilled in us the spirit of positive and healthy competition.”
Reading festival, has immensely helped and encouraged the students to inculcate the habit of reading, she said.
“I can see lots of improvisation in the reading skills of the students. It also helps the students to build vocabulary and understanding the concepts of the lesson in a better, joyful and easier way. It also solves the reading challenges of the students upto a great extent. Indeed, it is an excellent initiative to bring changes in all the schools throughout the state, Khuvung said.
She thanked everyone involved in making this initiative a successful one.
R. Wondanglo Yanthan, language teacher and the incharge of NRF GPS Orchid highlighted the journey and activities of NRF in the school.
