Nagaland is the first state among the North Eastern States of India to be on-boarded in the National Single Window System (NSWS), as per an official survey.
This marks a major leap in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) in the State, noted the Nagaland Economic Survey 2022-2023 published by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Government of Nagaland.
The Nagaland Single Window System is a one-stop digital platform that aims at allowing investors to apply for various pre-operation approvals required for commencing a business in the state.
It offers a ‘Know Your Approvals’ service to inform businesses of the details of the approvals they need to obtain as well as a common registration from, document repository and e-communication module.
Currently, the portal hosts applications for 36 licences and approvals from 11 line departments from the state.
The platform is built to serve as an advisory tool to identify approvals based on user inputs and can be used for guidance purpose.
The portal was launched on July 5, 2022 and can be accessed through the link http://www.nsws.gov.in/nagaland.
The Department of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland facilitated the same and it provides the necessary policy guidance for industrial development in the State, the survey noted.
It explores and formulates technically feasible and economically viable industrial projects, executes the project/schemes through entrepreneurs by providing entrepreneurship training as well as providing financial assistance through commercial banks, it informed.
The department facilitates prospective entrepreneurs to set up and run industrial ventures successfully, it added.
