71,000 successful candidates furnished with appointment letters across India

As part of the nationwide ‘Rozgar Mela’ event, a total of 213 appointments were made for recruits in Nagaland on April 13. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave away 71,000 appointment letters for various posts across the country via virtual mode, as part of the recruitment process undertaken by the Government of India (GoI) for filling up vacancies at various central government departments including railway department.
The event simultaneously held across 45 different locations in the country aim to provide 10 government jobs in the next one year. In Dimapur the ceremony was held at Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC), Fellowship colony wherein Minister of State, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Labour & Employment, Rameswar Teli personally handed over the appointment letters to 25 candidates which was hosted by the Northeast Frontier Railways.
In his speech, Teli stated that a total of 213 appointments were made including 200 appointments in the railways, 11 in postal department, 1 in Bank and 1 in Defence. Another 714 appointments were also made in the Railways via email.
“It is a matter of great pride that our government has made 2.90 lakh appointments in different departments since October 2022,” he noted. Furthermore, he implored upon the recruits to work with honesty and integrity in the various sectors which they were allotted to.
The posts included, train manager, station master, senior commercial-cum-ticket clerk, inspector, sub inspectors, constable, stenographer, junior accountant and various others.
Proactive pro-active approach
The Prime Minister who also addressed the gathering through video conferencing said, “The third decade of the 21st century is witnessing opportunities of employment and self-employment in India that were unimaginable earlier.”
An IANS report on the event stated that the Prime Minister highlighted various initiatives of the government over the past nine years.
In addition he took a jibe at the erstwhile UPA regime, saying that since 2014 (when the BJP-led government came to power) India has adopted a pro-active approach as opposed to the reactive stance of the earlier times.
He said, the thinking and approach of Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan goes beyond adopting swadeshi and ‘vocal for local.’ Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan is an ‘abhiyan’ of creating crore of employment opportunities from villages to cities, Modi informed.
Referring to the economic growth, Modi said India is the fastest growing economy, and “today’s new India is moving with policies and strategies that have opened the doors for new possibilities.”
Gauging the expectations of the new appointees from the government, the Prime Minister highlighted that it is now their responsibility to fulfil the expectations of others. “Each one of you will affect the life of a common man through your work in one way or the other,” he said.
