Nagaland registers third COVID-19 cases in April

Nagaland registered third COVID-19 positive cases for this month with the detection of 2 fresh positives on April 10.   As per the daily COVID-19 update issued by the State’s Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the two fresh positives were reported from Wokha.  The first case for this month was recorded on April 6, a person in Kohima tested positives for COVID-19.  However, the patient was reported as recovered on April 9, and the State had no active cases till Monday. 

As per the Nagaland’s Department of Health and Family Welfare IDSP record, the cumulative COVID 19 cases as of April 10 stood at 35,991, with two active cases. Out of this 33690 patients have recovered while 777 were as attributed as COVID-19 deaths. There were five ‘non-COVID deaths’ (with COVID-19 positivity) while 1517 cases have been migrated.  

Meanwhile, India reported 5,880 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per an update from the Union health ministry on Monday. The daily positivity rate was at 6.91 per cent while weekly positivity rate stood at 3.67 per cent as per the data released by the Ministry. The active caseload currently stands at 35,199. The recovery rate is at 98.73 per cent.
