Dimapur, March 22 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Region of NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) under the aegis of Konyak Region observed Naga Republic Day on Tuesday with dignitaries from various local bodies, councils and some civil society organisations in attendance.
According to a press release from the MIP, NSCN/GPRN, Capt Wanglam pronounced the invocation prayer which was followed by a welcome address by Brig Mongnyei of Eastern Command. A short speech was delivered by Dy Kilonser (Home) Chingten, while Tatar Temzei proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was led by Tatar Aton Wangnao, who also presented the presidential speech on behalf of President Akato Chophi, followed by mass benediction.
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving programme was also observed at Thahekhu Villlage, Dimapur led by Wankei Konyak, Deputy Kilonser of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The programme included a moment of silent prayer dedicated to fallen comrades, the release stated. A short speech was also delivered by Ato Kilonser Michael Yeptho while Kilo Kilonser Nokrang Lanu Aier presented the presidential speech followed by vote of thanks and a mass benediction, it added.
