“Call It What You Want”, arguably the best song off the record so far, was co-written and produced with Swift’s collaborator Jack Antonoff [St. Vincent, Lorde].
It’s a fairly drastic change-up from the songs Swift has released so far, including her other Antonoff collab “Look What You Made Me Do”, and is a slow-tempo song featuring heartfelt, romantic-yet-mature lyrics.
She sings in the opening verse:
‘My castle crumbled overnight
I brought a knife to a gunfight
They took the crown but it’s alright
All the liars are calling me one
Nobody’s heard from me in months
I’m doing better than I ever was.’
Swift has released four singles from her upcoming album reputation, which is released on 10 November via Big Machine Records.
