The Ao Students’ Conference will be hosting its 69th General conference which will be hosted at Akhoya village, Mokokchung. The conference will be held on the theme ‘Education in Praxis’ from January 18 to 20.
Nungdokyanger Ao, President, AKM said in a press conference at the AKM office on January 15 that this year’s theme was coined with the objective of educating the students on practical education and doing away with the traditional educational system where one gets educated and settles with a government job.
He said that students should be able to achieve the kind of education that will enable them to be relevant in terms of intellect, skills and attitude, five or ten years into the future so as to live a balanced life with contemporary society.
A workshop on the theme ‘Education in praxis’ will be held on January 19 with Moa Aier, Engineer-in-Chief, Department of Power and Er Atoba Longkumer, Engineer & Technology Entrepreneur, Founder, Tabernacle- the go to software for Churches.
The special guest for the conference will be Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland; the inaugural guest will be Tongpang Ozukum, Minister, Housing & Mechanical, while the valedictory guest will be Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, Minster, Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland.
Nangjenkala Tzudir, Asst. General Secretary, AKM informed during the press conference that 1500 student delegates will be attending the 69th AKM General conference at the host village, Akhoya.
