Mokokchung, November 18 (MExN): The presidents of 4 Wards in Mokokchung town, on November 17, have reminded Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of his ‘pledge’ made in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) while appealing for release of sanctioned amount for maintenance of the IMDH road.
In a representation to the CM, the presidents of Penli, Lijaba, Majakong and Artang Wards stated the “people of Mokokchung were immensely pleased” when he informed that the 12th Session of the 13th NLA on September 22 that the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs has sanctioned Rs 1.7 Crore for maintenance of road leading to Dr lmkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH).
However, we have learnt from the Urban Development Department Office, Mokokchung that the sanctioned amount has not been released as of date, they added in the representation submitted through the Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung.
As a result, the road has not been repaired yet and the existing condition of the road in a deplorable state causing much inconvenience to the commuters, the sick and the public in general, the representation highlighted.
Accordingly, the Wards urged for the CM’s intervention and ensure that the sanctioned amount is released immediately.
