Mon, October 13 (MExN): Joint Secretary, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India, Anuradha S Chagati visited Shangsa village in Mon district on October 12 and held an interactive meeting with the village council and various stakeholders at the Council Hall, Shangsa Village.
According to a DIPR report, the purpose of her visit was to make people aware of the SAMBHAV Mission mode programme which focuses on the development of backward blocks/villages across the Northeast by converging and monitoring key indicators such as access to health, education, drinking water, electricity, and financial inclusion.
During the interaction, she enquired as to how the village was utilizing and implementing the various Central and State Government Schemes at the grassroots level. She also directed the village functionaries to highlight the development requirements of the village and the shortcomings of the various schemes. After the interaction, she visited the village school and Anganwadi Centre.
ADC Tizit, Pakon Phom, NCS chaired the meeting while Angh of Sanghsa, L Langto delivered the welcome address. The development requirements and grievances of the village were shared by Village Council Chairman, A Teilei Konyak. The meeting was attended by Addl. Secretary & OSD, Planning Department Nayantara Sasikumar, Planning Officer, Chingmei Phom, District Administration, and officers from line departments.
