Kohima, September 18 (MExN): A State Level Committee meeting with all concerned departments related to People’s Plan Campaign was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J. Alam, IAS at the Secretariat Conference Hall on September 15.
People’s Plan Campaign (2002) will be rolled out as ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ under the ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India from October 2, 2022 to January 31, 2023 for the preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the financial year 2023-24.
Addressing the meeting, a press release stated that J Alam gave a brief highlight of the ongoing GPDPs implemented by RD Department since 2018 and reiterated the vision of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to make the People’s Plan Campaign a participatory process involving all the line departments in the formulation, planning and implementation of Gram Panchayat Village plans. The exercise is mainly to facilitate better co-ordination between departments and to avoid duplication of schemes which is of paramount importance in convergence schemes.
He further emphasized on the need for all line departments to actively intervene in the formulation of plans Village Councils, VDBs, SHGs as well as concerned stake holders in the village level. The line departments were also requested to send list of schemes for incorporation in the GPDP.
Commissioner & Secretary RD, Neposo Theluo, IAS presented a PPI highlighting the progress of GPDP since its take off and also mentioned that with the exemption of Panchayati Raj system in the State, the department of Rural Development has been designated as the Nodal officer to monitor the planning and progress of GPDP implementation in the State.
Further, the meeting decided to hold bi-monthly review meetings with all concerned stake holders implementing the program and its status report to be intimidated to RD department.
The meeting was attended by all line departments including Health & Family Welfare, Environment, Forest & CC, PHED, Power, Agriculture, School Education, Industries & Commerce, Land Revenue, Food & Civil Supply, Fisheries & AR, Social Welfare, Works & Housing, Water Resources, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Labour & Employment, NRE, Art & Culture, SIRD, NIC, NSRLM and Rural Development department.
