THE LEARNING EDGE: 9th Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship 2022 promotional video launched

Nagaland Technical Education & Elections, Advisor Medo Yhokha launched a short promotional video for the forthcoming 9th Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship 2022 on August 20.

This championship will be held under the aegis of Fountain Club Kohima in collaboration with State Council for Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Government of Nagaland.

With the theme “The Learning Edge,” it will take place from October 13 to 14 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma near Kohima.

The total prize money of Rs 1,59,000 – along with citations and trophies will be awarded to the winners, said Foundation Club Chairman, S Kevisavi Hibo.

The champion will receive Rs. 60,000 while the first runner up will get Rs 40,000.

The 3rd and 4th place position winners will be awarded with Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.

All the quarter finalist will also receive Rs 5000 each including Rs 4000 for the Young Spellers award.

Maximum of two students from class 6 to 9 from one educational school /institute will be eligible to participate, Hibo said.

All details and entry forms can be downloaded from www.fountainclub.in, www.morungexpress.com and www.ramietech.in and the filled up entry forms can be mailed to: fountainclubkma.gmail.com on or before 8th October 2022.

The championship is being organized in partnership with The Morung Express, Ramietech Solutions, Mirrorless Films and Crystal Cables Kohima.

Organizing Committee convenor Neizokhotuo Belho hope to see mass participation of students across the state.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion at the function held at Vivid Lounge, Yhokha, who is also member of Fountain Club said that “the ideals, visions and the dreams and the initiative and endeavours taken up by the club especially to create awareness on various issues, activities and also provide appropriate platforms for the students community and younger generation is indeed laudable and indeed wonderful.”

He said that the platform which was provided to the students community, definitely, have gone a long way in harnessing, upgrading skills and the talents of the students community.

“Through this platform and through this competition, the students community are being exposed and are being made to explore the vast expansive rich resources of the literally goal, he said.

He also stressed on the need to encourage the students’ community to be smart and decisive.
