16th Pfutsero A/C NDPP general office bearers meeting held

The 16th Pfutsero Assembly Constituency, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today held its general meeting of all its unit constituents, region and central office bearers at TT Stadium, Pfutsero in Phek district.

Addressing the meeting, Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Neiba Kronu, said that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government under the Chief Ministership of Neiphiu Rio is seriously working for Naga political issue because all the Nagas wants solution.

He said the government has been making plea to the negotiators of peace talk to bring about early solution.
All 60 members and two MPs as Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue will meet again on July 16 at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima.

During the meeting, the core committee will update the members on the initiatives taken so far, Kronu said.
The Parliamentary Committee is serious for an early solution as desired by the Nagas, he said.

Stating that the dialogue has already been 25 years and it has been too long, he said the present government through the Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political issue has been the pressuring the negotiators for early solution.

‘We will get absolute majority in the next elections’
Touching on the forthcoming state assembly elections, Kronu said that even in the next term, Rio will continue to be the Chief Minister of the state because of which the NPF legislators have merged with NDPP.

“We (NDPP) will get absolute majority in the next elections,” he said.

“In a democratic set up, Chief Minister is the top most leader and therefore Rio being from NDPP we should be proud and continue to strengthen him,” said Kronu.

Have confidence in the leadership of Neiphiu Rio. We will form government again, said Kronu, a third-time MLA from 16th Pfutsero A/C.

He said with state assembly elections nearing, different political parties will come out with their respective manifestos and assurances.

In this, he called upon the party workers to be practical and remain steadfast with NDPP party.

Kronu said that he has been making best efforts to bring all round development within Pfutsero Assembly Constituency in particular and Phek district in general despite being the lone minister from the district.

Meanwhile, he made a fervent appeal to the people of the constituency to help him to get through the next state assembly elections.

The meeting unambiguously declared total confidence in the leadership of NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and chief minister Neiphiu Rio.

It also unanimously recommended and decided to support Neiba Kronu as its candidate for the next state assembly elections.

16th A/C NDPP, Pfutsero, also pledged its utmost allegiance to the NDPP party and its constitution to work wholeheartedly towards the success, growth and expansion of the party.

Earlier, NDPP senior leader K. Puro called upon the party workers to stay loyal to the party ideology and principles and work in unison to expand the party.

He also called upon the people to support Neiba Kronu and get him elected again in the next state assembly elections in 2023 for all round development.

Merhaso Pfiino, president NDPP youth Phek region also spoke at the meeting and requested the party workers to strengthen the leadership of Neiba Kronu and access the fruits of development. The programme was chaired by Dingulo Khutsoh, president 16th Pfutsero A/C NDPP.

16th Pfutsero A/C NDPP vice president Nerayi Thuluo delivered welcome address. Velhoukhro Venuh & Akulhi Khupfu of Sweven presented special number.

16th Pfutsero A/C NDPP general secretary Kevisanyu Marhu shared attendance report while resolution adopted at the meeting was announced by Setso Puro, convenor, resolution committee.
