Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today honoured 69 Naga toppers in the HSLC and HSLC examination 2022 from Nagaland including three Naga secondary examination toppers from Manipur at a facilitation programme held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, near Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagaland Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology And New & Renewable Energy, Advisor Mmhonlümo Kikon congratulated the toppers and urged upon them to shine for Nagaland and “make us proud with your innovative achievements in the future.”
He said that the key is not to rest from one’s laurel but to maintain the competitive spirit and struggle for higher excellence.
Talking on employment, he said that state government will ensure that affirmative action policies are in place.
“Meritocracy is the only way to secure government jobs,” he said.
NSSB and NPSC are fully on the job to ensure a free, fair and transparent employment process for the sanctioned post, he said.
He also said that the state government has created sufficient opportunities for the multiple musical talents in Nagaland with TaFMA leading from the front.
We have seen our folk musicians like the Tetseo Sisters making our music internationally known and also earning their livelihood through our heritage using platforms like YouTube and Instagram, he said.
He was optimistic that with the new National Education Policy in place, Nagaland will too see huge developments in the education sector in the years to come.
He also stressed on the need to address the ills of the society through a collective efforts.
Manipur MLA J. Kumo Sha challenged the toppers to become ambassador of education.
“You must become a pride for the Naga people,” he said.
He also challenged the toppers to strive harder and try to encourage one another to grow and prosper together.
‘Be an asset to our people,’ NSF President
Congratulating the toppers, NSF President Kegwayhun Tep said that they have come a long way but they still have lot of challenges ahead of them.
He urged upon them not to take their achievements as a pride but take that an inspiration to achieve more in life.
“Please stay focus and make sure that your dream is attained,” he said.
He wanted the toppers to occupy a position where they will be respected in the society.
Further, he prayed that they will be an asset to our people not a liability or burden to the people.
UPSC examination 2022 rank 585-Imsennaro Walling also exhorted the students while HSSLC (Arts) topper 1 Limasangla spoke on behalf of the toppers.
Father Gwatilo Alex Tep, Assistant Priest, SFT Parish Kohima prayed for Naga toppers. The programme was chaired by NSF Speaker, James Brilliantson Kashung while vote of thanks was proposed by NSF Social & Culture Secretary, Benjong Longchar.
