DIMAPUR, JUNE 19 (MExN): The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has stated that the continued occupation of the Industrial Estate, Firing range Dimapur by the CRPF is a loss for Naga entrepreneurs who could have availed the industrial sheds at reasonable cost.”
A good number of employments can also be generated if industrial activity takes place, a press release from the BAN stated. It informed that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been occupying a good portion of the Industrial Estate and some industrial sheds for many years. The CRPF’s stay at the Industrial Estate was supposed to be temporary but the CRPF has extended their stay, the BAN informed.
On Saturday, June 18, the Commissioner & Secretary for Industries and Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa; DC Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal; Managing Director of Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), Zuvito Waths, President of the BAN, Mongkum Jamir, department officials and BAN members inspected the Industrial Estate.
The officials inspected the area and also met the CRPF Assistant Commandant in charge. BAN expressed the need for the occupied area to be vacated at the earliest. The Department of Industries and Commerce assured to take appropriate steps in this regard, it informed.
