Nagaland: ‘Cost of private education has catapulted’

Pughoboto, June 19 (MExN): Advisor for School Education and SCERT, KT Sukhalu inaugurated the GHS up-gradation to GHSS Pughoboto in presence of MLA Y Vikheho Swu on June 18.

Advisor Sukhalu, the special guest unveiled the foundation stone stated a DIPR report. He stated that the cost of private education has catapulted and it is the priority for the parents to build a strong foundation for their children with facilities that the government has provided within their doorsteps.

He addressed to the GBs and elders that it is their responsibility to promote and support the school faculties. “Unless our children’s foundation is strong, our students wouldn’t compete with the other students from the state- be it in NPSC, UPSC, and others exam,” he stated.

Stating that the enhancement Grant, SAMAGRAHA Shiksha is providing funds and teaching equipment, he assured the posting of PGTs as early as possible and start the higher secondary soon.

He added that the government is willing to set up more GHSS as long as the enrolment is up to the mark with good results.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Y Vikheho Swu urged the landowners not to hamper the government development activities and also requested to Department to restore the downgraded GHS under the Pughoboto sub-division.

Principal Director School Education, Thavaseelan K, IAS said several challenges and issues in the department are being resolved on a timeline and asked them to extend support for multiple projects improvement for the school teachers and other mission components. He urged the parents to go forward with patience to bring success.

Director for School Education, Nagaland, Wonthungo Tsopoe said everyone needs quality education. “Education is a weapon and to can change society,” he stated while adding that after a few weeks the department is going to honour the Headmaster, Headmistress, and teachers for their good performance.

ADC Tiamern Chang and Principal Director H&FW (Rtd) Dr Sukhato A Wotsa also spoke during the occasion.

Executive Secretary SABAK, Pughoboto, Tovishe Shohe said the dedication. The welcome address was delivered by Pughoboto Town Adoch Town council Hokqihe Sheqi. The programme was chaired by GHS Headmistress Keyeshe Sema and vote of thanks was delivered by President Sumi Aphyumi Hoho, Inva Swu.

The school was established in 1945 and with the approval of NBSE started the HSLC Center in the year 2017.
