Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) today expressed its appreciation to Nagaland Governor of Nagaland Prof Jagdish Mukhi for what it described as “his wise decision to remove the unnecessary and multiple check gates prevalent in the State.”
This move by the Governor has brought inexpressible relief to the people of Nagaland, especially the business community who has been facing untold miseries arising out of illegal collections/taxations, the RPP maintained in a statement.
By removing these check gates, the burdens of unwarranted inflation upon the consumers of the State would be reduced by a huge margin and improve the overall human development index, it said. Calling the move a masterstroke, the RPP further appealed the Governor to continue looking into the well being of the people.
“History has proven for a fact that our successive governments has failed to address the burning issues of Nagaland at multiple number of times,” it pointed out. Even though, we are presently living under a failed system of governance, Governor has given a ray of hope to the people of Nagaland when needed the most, it added.
