DIMAPUR, NOV 24 (NPN) : Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday assured to take up the inland waterways project in Nagaland during the current financial year.
This was conveyed to minister of transport, civil aviation, railways and land resources, P. Paiwang Konyak, when the latter called on Sonowal in Delhi on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that Centre in 2016 declared Tizu-Zungki River as National Waterway-101.
Paiwang informed Sonowal that comprehensive DPRs were prepared by M/s WAPCOS for the project and the proposal submitted to Ministry for sanction.
During the meeting, Sonwal had also asked Paiwang to submit the list of “top priorities” prepared by the state government, to which Paiwang assured to submit the list within a week’s time, deputy director and PRO Nagaland House Delhi, Kuolie Mere stated in a press note.
