Churches celebrate World Sunday School Day

DIMAPUR , November 8: Along with the rest of the World, various churches across the state celebrated “World Sunday School Day’ on November 7.
CBCMHK: On the occasion, 55 students graduated from Sunday School (Knights Templar class), youth department at Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBCMHK).

According to media and publicity committee of CBCMHK, a graduation ceremony was held in the afternoon devotional service at the church with chaplain of Mount Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima Zaseto Sasü as the main speaker.

Congratulating the students, Sasü said they have reached an important milestone in the journey of the Lord. However, reminded them that this was not the end but they have many milestones to be covered. “Where you are right now is because of the grace of God. It is a result of God’s faithfulness and teachers investment and effort in your life”, he said.
Meanwhile, CBCMHK Youth department has organised a welcome programme for the graduating students on November 13.
Earlier, Rev. Pusazo Chüzho prayed for the students; assistant superintendent, Sunday School department, Küvelü Phesao led the service while Mütünelü Tetseo spoke on behalf of the graduating batch and Sunday school teachers performed a skit.

KLBC: Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (KLBC) D.Block also celebrated the day at the church premises. Pastor, Rev, N.Silubo Zeliang emphasized on the topic of why Sunday school is important for the children.

A press release by media cell of KBC stated that Rev. Silubo in his speech encouraged the responsible parents to nurture their children as desired by God as a gift and heritage of God and to play the important role of parents.
On the occasion, three children from Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church Sunday School Department accepted Jesus Christ as their personal saviour and were baptized, administered by Rev, N.Silubo Zeliang. Women department of KLBC presented gifts to all the children on the Occassion.
SBAK-Aizuto: Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (SBAK-Aizuto) also observed World Sunday Day along with the rest of the world with the theme “Grow in Christ”.

The programme was held in a low key manner keeping in view the COVID-19 situation
On the occasion, various entertaining and special items were presented by the Sunday School students.

Women leader ZTSBC, Anatoli Aye, while exhorting the children urged them to follow the right path which the Lord wants us to do.

She also included prayer as an important part in knowing and talking to God and reminded the children to be attentive at churches and be a well participator in prayers and other activities. A special prayer for all the children was said by pastor ZTSBC, Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi.

LBCD: On the occasion, Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD) acknowledged and felicitated 21 Sunday School graduates.
Pastor LBCD, Rev.Limhathung Lotha invoked God’s blessings for the graduating Sunday School students and also felicitated them with the certificate and a Holy Bible.

The word of God was delivered by Sunday School teacher, Lopilo Lotha on the topic, “Worry not, Fear Not but Trust in God,” taken from the passage, Hebrew 11:6.

Signifying the day, Sunday school children presented choreography, songs and recited bible verses.

Sunday School Superintendent, Rhonbeni Odyuo read the word of God, while associate pastor, Yimstu Yanthan said the offertory prayer.
ZBCK: Zeme Baptist Church Kohima (ZBCK) also celebrated World Sunday School Day on Sunday.

Dr. Lungsang Zeliang, while delivering her sermon said ‘God wants us to be children of Light and not children of darkness and it applies to everyone and not only children’. She advised the older children to be a role model for their younger siblings and help them in studies.

She also talked about using technology responsibly and said that technology can be a blessing or a curse depending on how we use it. She further hoped that Sunday school will be inclusive and cater to the spiritual growth and spiritual feeding for children who are born different or differently abled and make church a space where every child is accepted.

Earlier pastor ZBCK invoked special blessings for teachers and students. The other highlights of the celebration included bible reading by Izinlung (OT) and Heinchale (NT) and bible recitation by Inswading. Musical piece was presented by Chidibe and friends followed by special song from the senior class.
