‘Providing quality edn govt’s priority’

DIMAPUR , September 17: Advisor school education KT Sukhalu Thursday said the state government’s priority was to provide quality and free education to all and encouraged parents to enrol their children in government schools.

Sukhalu was speaking at the inaugural of the newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary School Akuluto, stated a DIPR report.

The advisor also sought community support for government schools so that the schools could produce good results cautioning that underperforming schools would be downgraded.

Sukhalu appealed elders and civil society organisation to support teachers and school education committee for better performance of schools.

The advisor also urged teachers to be sincere and honest and build strong foundation for the students. He also advised parents to support their children and allow them to choose their own career path.

Sukhalu also thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for upgrading eight Government High Schools to Government Higher Secondary Schools.

Stating that COVID-19 pandemic was still not over, Sukhalu advised the people to get vaccinated and follow government SOPs.

In a short speech, advisor NSDMA & CAWD Kazheto Kinimi thanked the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and especially KT Sukhalu for making the dreams of the people of Akuluto and surrounding villagers dreams a reality.

He also requested the people to leave aside political differences and come together and support him so that they can work together and bring more development.

Director School education Wonthungo Tsopoe said the school was upgraded with that hope that it would produce good results and good leaders and also to bring good education facilities to people’s doorstep. He requested the education committee and teachers not to let the department’s expectations down.

The programme was chaired by GT GHS Akuluto Kheghoto Sema, invocation by SBAA Pastor Jasper Achumi, students of GHS Akuluto presented a special number and Sumi folk song, welcome address by GB and president AAGBA, Hotovi Chishi, short speeches by president VAAGBA Kughaho Assumi, HM GHS Akuluto Katovi Chishi and benediction by Akheto Awomi.
