Eastern Nagaland MLAs remind NITI Aayog of PM’s special package promise

DIMAPUR, AUG 25 (NPN) : Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) have appealed to NITI Aayog to look into the project report submitted to DoNER ministry based on the special package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Eastern Nagaland in 2018.
The appeal was made by a delegation led by ENLU convenor and minister S Pangnyu Phom, accompanied by DUDA department officials, that called on NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant at his office in Delhi.


During the discussion, the legislators highlighted the special package announced by the Prime Minster, based on which a multi-disciplinary committee headed by Home ministry was set up to look into the matter. Thereafter, a comprehensive project was prepared and submitted to the DoNER ministry, but the project has not been sanctioned to date.
The delegation urged NITI Aayog CEO and other officials present at the meeting to look into the project submitted to the DoNER ministry. Kant assured his full cooperation and support in taking up the project proposal lying with the DoNER ministry. He also advised the delegation to re-prioritise the project proposal submitted to the DoNER.
The delegation was also accompanied by DRC Wennyei Konyak, planning OSD Thomas Thailu and deputy director & PRO of Nagaland House, Kuolie Mere.
