DIMAPUR, August 21: A five-day training for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) on COVID-19 paediatric care was conducted in Longleng from to August 18-20.
In a press release, district media officer, Roseline informed that the training was conducted block and cluster wise for preparedness and management of COVID-19 cases, surveillance, signs and symptoms at community level in the paediatric age group.
ASHAs were trained on how to respond suitably to prevailing myth related to COVID-19 in children and on the principles of integrated management of neonatal and childhood illness approach.
The release informed that the ASHAs were also trained to take care of mothers and neonates born to COVID-19 positive mothers, roles and responsibilities at community level. Earlier, ASHAs also received pulse oximeters and digital thermometers from the DTF.
During the programme, district trainers were MO Tamlu CH, Dr. Bonglau, MO Buranamsang HWC, Dr. Mongmei Avenoho, district community mobiliser Henmei, block ASHA coordinator Longleng-2, Yungmei and block ASHA coordinator Yongnyah Block, Nungai.
