DIMAPUR , August 19: The Kohima District Task Force (DTF) held a meeting at the DC’s conference hall on August 18 protracting the status of vaccination progress and covid strategy plan in Kohima district.
According to DIPR report, state nodal officer for Kohima district and secretary PHED, Kesonyü Yhome, limiting his views to a particular point on vaccination suggested that to know the status of the district, in the next 15 days, a short-term vision for an intensive drive for certain areas and blocks should be initiated to sensitize and to increase the ratio of vaccination.
Yhome informed that the government has given some mandate to visit some areas to interact with the publics to get the ground realities and get feedbacks on ‘public hesitancy’ for getting vaccinated, which perhaps the State War room will get a better picture and more informed to take better decision on how to fight the disease.
“Understanding the limited resources, human constrains and other resources constrains, it will be another factor of worry, however that was not an excuse to sit back”, he added while encouraging all the members involved to be proactive in the consequent weeks ahead.
He also mentioned that testing and treatment will continue with revised SOPs and Kohima being a better district in vaccination status, the government regulating any valuable policies and suggestion pertaining to vaccination should be sensitized over again to the community so that the status of covid vaccination can be acceptable to a ratio of 50% plus in all the areas and blocks
Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie mentioned that the government at its wisdom has been giving few priority on certain areas especially on vaccination, hence vaccination remains the most important aspect. He stated that the pace of Covid vaccination is significantly low at some areas due to factors related to anti vaccination, religious factors etc.
The DC further added that special session for sensitization programme, active mobile teams are ready and active at their discretion for people in far flung areas for covid related requirements.
Later in the day MS, NHAK, Dr. Sentineren Aonok highlighted on the record of covid patients at NHAK while CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo highlighted on the status of vaccination at blocks under Kohima district.
