ANPSA felicitates HSLC, HSSLC toppers

Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, AUG 18 (NPN) : All Nagaland Private School’s Association (ANPSA) Dimapur unit felicitated toppers of 2021 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) at the Holy Cross Higher Secondary School auditorium, here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering as special guest, agricultural production commissioner (APC) Y Kikheto Sema said that the function was significant as it was an opportunity to meet the future leaders.

Kikheto advised the students that hard work and dedication brought them here, which he said, was an honour not only for the students but also for their parents and schools.

Lauding the performance of students from Dimapur for the achievements, he pointed out that Dimapur was not only the gateway but also the only commercial hub of Nagaland.

He also maintained that Dimapur was the gateway of best schools, teachers and students in the state.

Kikheto encouraged the students to fear God all the times, to obey their teachers and parents.

Speaking at the programme as guest of honour, deputy commissioner, Rajesh Soundararajan lauded the students and maintained that the result was a reflection of not only their hard work and sacrifices but also of their parents, teachers and schools.

Sharing about how he got into civil services, the DC said that his parents wanted him to become a doctor, however, he stuck with his ambition to serve people. He maintained that the professions they chose today would make an impact in their lives and encouraged the students to be open to options.

DC advised them to have no fear of failures and that the only competition was themselves.

Highlights of the programme included welcome song by Nilo H Chophy from St Mary Higher Secondary School and special numbers by LFI Renememmenla and assistant mentor LFI, Prem Mech.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by LFI Aggya Thapa and welcome address was delivered by ANPSA Dimapur unit president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto while invocation was pronounced by ANPSA executive member, Fr. Philip.

It may be mentioned that out of 80 toppers in HSLC, a total of 42 students were from Dimapur, while out of 44 in the HSSLC, Dimapur bagged a total of 30 numbers.
