DIMAPUR, August 14: Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) conducted a vaccination camp on classical swine fever at Nerhe model village on August 12 under Chiephobozou block, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, a total number of 101 pigs were vaccinated against classical swine fever during the vaccination camp.
During the programme, Nerhe model village council extended gratitude to the department for not only carrying out the vaccination but also creating awareness among the livestock farmers.
The council further appealed to the department to conduct such programmes and assist the farmers in the future as most of the farmers depended solely on animal husbandry for their livelihood.
VAS vety, dispensary, Chiephobozou Kohima, Dr. Vikuolie Mezhatsu informed that vaccination was carried out by VAS and staff of Vety. dispensary, Chiephobozou, VS and staff of veterinary hospital Kohima and four internees from CAU, college of veterinary sciences & AH, Jalukie and one internee from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of veterinary education and research, Puducherry conducted the vaccination camp.
